Blog Suggestions

  • Reading-Response: Instead of having students use a hand-written journal, have them blog their responses to literature read in class
  • Group Discussion: If a class is reading a piece of literature, discussing poetry, or debating a theme, posing a question for response before or after a lesson is a great way to encourage student thinking while allowing them to share their thoughts with each other.
  • Persuasive Writing: Students can write a persuasive piece and post to the blog for feedback. They can add links to other articles or sites that support their argument.
  • Peer Editing: By posting a piece of writing on the blog, other students can respond with suggestions or feedback for improvement before final submission.
